Just for Fun: Pool Party!

I thought I would post pics of China Glaze Pool Party today. I really wanted to wear this to Florida, but I really had to think about a polish that would be a little more durable. This chips like crazy on me, and I want something that will last through all the beach days and outdoor things we'll be doing. But I do LOVE Pool Party, so here are some old pics of it! Actually from when I lived in Florida. :)

Isn't it perfect?! I love it!
I'm stoked for Florida, y'all! I'm getting so excited! So I chose to wear Tart Deco on my fingers and Peach Parfait on my toes! :) I'm off to schedule some posts for when I'm gone. And maybe pack?! I've already packed a few things, and I still have til about noon tomorrow. Wish me luck! I'll talk to y'all when I get back, and I'm hoping to post some pics from the trip!

Stellare Notte

Hey y'all! I want to show off Stellare Notte by Borghese today. It's such a pretty polish, but I kinda have a love/hate relationship with it. Read on! :)

I tried so hard to capture the shimmer in this that turns from purple to green to a sort of blue. But I don't think I got it. :(
I think this is a really unique polish, and one that I had considered getting for the longest time before I *actually* got it. It has loads of color changing shimmer in a blackened blue/purple base. It goes from purple to green to a blue tint. And I definitely don't own anything else like this. However, I have such a hard time applying this. It's got a weird consistency, and drying time seems to take forever! I'm not intrigued by that special brush they claim to have, because to me, it's just a brush. And the price is definitely too much for what I'm really getting. The color is really interesting though. And I kind of enjoy the shape of the bottle, and the brush is easy to hold. But should I really have to pay that much for those things? I really don't think so, and that's why I don't own many bottles of Borghese. I usually only pick one up if it's majorly marked down or a color that really catches my eye. So what do y'all think? Does anyone have this polish? If so, does anyone else have the same problems/complaints as I do? Let me know!

Today was a busy day! I am sooo wiped out. Tomorrow is going to be spent packing for Florida and scheduling some posts while I'm gone! I want to say a little WELCOME to all my new followers! Y'all make my day and thank you so much for stopping by! I also love the comments that y'all leave me. It's so nice to know that people actually read my blog and can get something out of it. I really enjoy doing this. Thanks for reading! :)

Comparisons!

Good afternoon! As I've mentioned, I've been playing around with my polishes a lot lately. I have polishes that are pretty close in color, so I thought comparing some would make for a good post. I know I have lots more, but these were the ones that stood out the most to me.

The first two are Sinful Colors Pink Forever (1) and Jessica Juicy (2). These were incredibly hard to capture on the camera, especially since I had to take these pictures inside. They don't even look like they match their bottle pictures. So weird! Anyway, I did three coats of both and Pink Forever seems to be a little darker than Juicy. The formula was also a lot thicker than Juicy. So I don't think they are exact matches.

Next I have Sally Girl Pea-Body (3) and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Green with Envy (4). Pea-Body is a much lighter green with a very thin formula. Green with Envy is darker and almost opaque in one coat. I did three coats of both, anyway.

NYX Ocean (5) and Pure Ice A List (6). These seem so similar in the bottle, but obviously, on the nail Ocean has a green tint to it. They both have that frosty finish, but A List has a lighter, more blue shine to it. These are both three coats.

E.L.F. Royal Purple (7) and 10 Signed, Sealed, & Delivered (8). These are the most similar. I really can't tell much of a difference. Royal Purple is a little darker, but they both have the same shimmer. These are both three coats.

China Glaze Pool Party (9) and Jesse's Girl Beach Baby (10). These are so similar in the bottle, that I was really wondering why I had both. But once they are painted, it's obvious that Pool Party is much lighter than Beach Baby, although they are both bright neons. These are both three coats.

Sally Hansen Insta Dri Blue Away (11) and Sally Hansen Barracuda (12). Blue Away looks a little darker in the bottle and once it is on the nail, it truly is the darker of the two. Barracuda is a lighter, more pastel blue. Blue Away really only needs two coats to get full opacity, while Barracuda definitely needs three. Regardless, I used three coats on both.

Essense Ultimate Pink (13) and Maybelline Fuchsia Flash (14). In the bottles, these both have a blue flash, but only Fuchsia Flash translates that flash onto the nail. Ultimate Pink is more of a creamy pink. There is a slight hint of a blue flash, but it's not as obvious as Fuchsia Flash, and it's a much darker pink. Fuchsia Flash also shows a lot of brush strokes. These are both three coats.

Maybelline Aqua Electric (15) and Wet n Wild Bijou Blue (16). These have very few similarities once painted. Aqua Electric is more of a glass fleck polish, and Bijou Blue is really more of a frost. They are basically the same shade of blue, but with different finishes. These are both three coats.

And last but not least, L.A. Colors Static Electricity and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Pacific Blue. Static Electricity is a darker, more indigo blue and Pacific Blue is more of a neon blue. Pacific Blue is really pigmented so two coats is fine, but I used three for both. Static Electricity is also very pigmented, but needs three coats so that the color can build properly.

I know I have plenty more polishes in my collection that have matches, but I'll have to find those the next time I feel like re-organizing my collection. :)

I'm super stoked for our trip to Florida! Thank y'all for helping to pick out a color. I think the one everybody liked the most was Pool Party. I really like that one, too, it just chips so easily. So I'll have to see what I can do! And now that I'm thinking about it, my toes really don't have to match my nails... so I might do two different colors. Ahhh the possibilities! :)

Let me know what y'all think of the comparisons! Does anybody have these polishes? Are there other colors pretty similar to the ones I posted? Thanks for reading! :)

A Look at My Collection: Greens

For the past few weeks, I've been going through all of my polishes trying to find a better way to organize them. I always go back to organizing them by brand, so I don't know why I even bother. But, I've also been using my nail wheels a lot. I love painting them, because then I can see all the different shades I have and I can see that I don't need to keep buying one color. I've noticed that my collection of greens is pretty small, as compared to my pinks or blues. I thought it would be fun to show off my collection through nail wheels. So today I'm going to show y'all my greens!
I currently have 17 greens in my collection. There are 18 nails on the nail wheel, so the 18th nail is just a little experiment I was doing. :)
1. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri: Jade Jump
2. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Lime Lights
3. L.A. Colors: Current
4. Del Sol: Looking Glass
5. Zoya: Gemma
6. OPI: Green-wich Village
7. Sinful Colors: Irish Green
8. Wet n Wild: Jade
9. Sinful Colors: Show Me the Way
10. Maybelline: Go Go Green
11. Ulta: Into the Limelight
12. Rimmel: Camouflage
13. Sinful Colors: San Francisco
14. American Apparel: Hunter
15. OPI: Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow
16. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Green with Envy
17. Sally Girl: Pea-Body
18: Ulta: Pinata-Yada-Yada topped with L'Oreal I Pink I'm in Love

So those are my greens! In the first picture of the nail wheel, my Del Sol changed to its outdoor color, which is a pink-red. But, indoors and in the shade it is green. I think my favorite greens are Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow and Into the Limelight. What are your favorites? Is there anything y'all want to see on my nails?

I'm putting together a post on what polish I should wear to Florida. So far I have 10 polishes that I'd like to wear. I want y'all's opinions on those, so look for a post coming up this week!

Mochacino

Behold, Essie Mochacino!

These pictures were taken in the late afternoon so I didn't get the best sunshine pic, but I think this will do. This is one of my most favorite browns. I'm going to call it brown, because to me, that's what it looks like. With a buncha fine glitter. It's really a cute shade. I used three coats and had no problems with the application. Drying time was a little funky and I'm not really sure why. A quick dry top coat should fix that, though. So what do y'all think? Who else has this color?

On another note, I tested out my Nicole by OPI drying drops tonight! I did my grandmothers nails for an event she's going to and I thought it was the perfect time to test them out. I love them! They're actually really fun to use. It comes with a little dropper and you just drop 1-2 drops on your nail. It contains jojoba and Vitamin E, so it conditions your cuticles as it's drying your nails. The box says that after 60 seconds your nails should be dry to the touch. After 5 minutes your nails will be completely dry. And that is true! I'm really excited to use these on myself, because I am so impatient when it comes time to let my nails dry. I almost always end up with some dent or smudge in my polish. Hopefully that's over with now! Has anyone else used these drying drops?

I hope y'all are all having a great weekend! I'm getting really excited for next week as we are leaving for Florida on Friday. I'm thinking up a post for possible polish ideas for the trip, so get ready to help me pick something out! Thanks for reading! :)

Latest Haul!

Do I shop too much? Possibly... Do I buy too much nail polish? Well, yeah. But if I didn't, I wouldn't have this lovely little blog! So welcome to my latest haul. :)

From left to right I have: Sephora by OPI brush-on cuticle oil, CND Stickey Anchoring Base Coat, Essie Limo-Scene, Urban Outfitters Barstool, Urban Outfitters Hangover, Savvy by Femme Couture Shimmer Time, Nina Ultra Pro Sailor.
Lotsa new stuff! I'm excited to try everything out! I desperately needed more cuticle oil. I've had my brush on cuticle oil for almost two years without it running out, so I know this one will last a long time. I love it. I can always get the right amount out and it's just very easy to use. And it's not expensive, like $7 or $8. I've also needed a decent base coat FOREVER. I have no idea what to use. I found the CND at Beauty Max for $5.95. I really hope it's okay. I just need something. I've been using an OPI Ridge Filler, and I do use it a lot, and it works. But I think sometimes it ruins the polish I'm using for a manicure. So I'm on to something else! I'll still use the ridge filler because it does work well for certain polishes.
I picked up the Essie at Beauty Max, too. Actually, my Mom bought it because she's been seeing it around and really likes it. So I didn't have to spend my money on that one- thanks Mama! The two polishes I'm most excited about are the Urban Outfitters! I just went in there today and I LOVE the store. It's so much fun! They have like everything. Including NYX make up and a few nail polishes. We had an UO in Jacksonville, but just recently got one here in the Cooper Young area. It's really a fun place and the layout of this one is really cute. Their polish was buy 2 for $8, so of course I picked some up! I had a hard time picking them out, because honestly, I wanted all of them. Maybe next time! ha! And then the last two, Savvy Shimmer Time and Nina Sailor, I picked up at Sally's. They were both on sale for $0.99! Yay!
So that's my latest haul! It might be time for me to stop for a while, hahah. Today was a much better day. I was able to get out of the house and hang out around Memphis for a few hours. It really made up for yesterday. I went out for Mexican food with my Mom and then we went to Muddy's bake shop in East Memphis. They have *the* best cupcakes ever. They're the perfect size with the perfect amount of icing, and it doesn't feel like you just ate five thousand cupcakes at one time. Does that make sense???? And they're not over-priced, which can be really annoying, because it's just a cupcake, ya know? And then we went to Urban Outfitters. So the day was good! :)

How was everyone's day? What do y'all think about my latest haul? What do y'all want to see first? Does anyone know about the CND base coat? Is it good or just plain awful? Let me know! Happy Friday! I hope everyone has a great weekend! :)

Tart Deco & My Ramblings

Howdy! I have one of my very favorite Essie's to show y'all. Tart Deco!

I picked this up maybe a month ago at WalMart. I instantly fell in love with this soft, pinky orange. The shade just seems perfect. And I love wearing it. It only needs two - three coats and it has a great formula. I really love Essie. It's become one of my favorite brands, which I believe I've mentioned on here before. I see it almost everywhere I go now since the brand is available at Walgreens, WalMart, etc. But those places never have the same colors on display as a beauty store. My most recent bottle of Essie is Limo-Scene. I found that at Beauty Max. I love going in there! It's tiny, but chocked full of OPI and Essie nail polishes. Along with some Nailtiques, I think? Anyway, don't y'all just love this shade? I think it's great for this time of the year and it's really cheery. :) What do y'all think????

So I just want to ramble a little bit about my crazy life. It's really not crazy, I'm very fortunate to have what I have. I just have little ups and downs. Today was just one of those days. You know, where everything and everyone seems to push your buttons? I really don't know why today had to be that day. Do y'all ever feel like just sitting down to cry by yourself for a second will make things a little better? I feel like that from time to time and it really does help a little. I'm trying to focus on the really good things that are going on. I registered for all my classes that begin this fall. Yay! It was a ridiculous process, but it's over with, so I can breathe easy for the next few months. We also have a little trip planned to Florida next weekend and I'm stoked! I miss my friends, neighbors, and the BEACH! We have three days to work with, so we're planning different beaches for each day. We plan on Crescent Beach, for sure, and then probably Jax Beach. Jax Beach has the most amazing pier and the best little shops and restaurants. It's just up the street from Neptune Beach, which has just as many cool little places. And then, of course, St. Augustine Beach and Anastasia Island. There are so many things to do, plus going back to our old neighborhood to visit all the amazing people we had as neighbors! I'm really excited. These little things are helping me on this icky day. Luckily for me, the day is so close to being finished and I have a new episode of the Real Housewives of NYC to watch! Double yay! Oh by the way, I watched some of the Beverly Hills Housewives marathon today, and they are such a mess! Maybe that's why my day sucked so bad. ha!

How are all of y'all? I hope everyone has had a better day than me and that tomorrow is awesome! It is Friday! Thank you for reading and for all of the nice comments y'all leave! You don't know how much I really appreciate it! :)

Blue Away

Hey y'all! I want to show y'all a new favorite polish and the color that I'm currently rocking, Blue Away from Sally Hansen Insta Dri.

This one is so gorgeous! I think it's pretty similar to Barracuda, but definitely the cheaper option if you only wanted one. I think I need to do a comparison. I was painting my nail wheels and noticed that they're pretty close in color, so a comparison post? I think that would be good! Anyway, I used two coats because this, along with all the other Insta Dris I have, is super pigmented! And I really love the drying fast part. I mean, when you're in a hurry but want pretty nails, why wouldn't you use this brand? That's all I've been using lately- ha!

So what do y'all think? Oh! Also! The vlog is ready to go, but we're having a few technical difficulties. I hope to get it up here soon! We *have* been working on it. :) Thanks for reading!

Jade Jump

Happy Monday! Here's a happy color to start your week off right! Sally Hansen Insta-Dri: Jade Jump!

The perfect minty green, no? I love it! The Insta Dri line seems to be full of polishes that are super pigmented! I really love them! I used two coats and didn't use a top coat. The formula was awesome! And I love the color, too! Altogether great polish! What do y'all think?

Samoan Sand

Hola! Today I'm showing y'all OPI's Samoan Sand.
I took this one in the late afternoon, so it was hard to get a good sun picture. And now actually looking at this, I'm thinking this color doesn't suit my skin tone. I still like it, though. It's a really smooth tan/neutral that's perfectly safe. ha! I like these safe colors from time to time. I used three coats. There's still a little VNL, but that's something I don't mind. What do y'all think? :)

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful Dad, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather! I love y'all!

Fuchsia Flare

I have a pretty bubble gum pink for y'all today. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri- Fuchsia Flare.

I think this is what you would describe as a bubble gum pink. Do y'all think so?
Anyway, this had a great formula! Like Sonic Bloom, it's super pigmented. One coat is almost enough, but I went with two and skipped out on a top coat. I'm getting used to the brush and I'm starting to like it. It covers my nails really well and makes it quicker to apply. Gotta love that! I got this at Target for around $4. :)

Bubble Bath

I have a really pretty, light pink for y'all today. OPI- Bubble Bath.

For this shade, I used three coats and skipped out on a top coat. There is visible nail line... but I really don't mind that. It's one of those polishes that you don't have to make perfectly opaque. I really like it with three coats. The formula is really good, like all OPI's. I got my bottle at Target for about $8. I love wearing this! :)

What do y'all think? Thank you for reading!

Gemma

Taking a small break from the eye searing neon that was yesterday's post... Zoya- Gemma!

I love a good green! And this one is great. I used three coats and topped it off with one thick top coat. The first coat was pretty sheer, but it builds quite nicely. I love the shimmer in this. Kind of a purple shimmer. It makes this polish stand out and be a little different than other greens. I think I'll get a lot of wear out of this one in the fall. I found this at Ulta and I have no idea how much I paid for it. oh well. :)

What do y'all think? Thanks for reading!

Reminder!

Hey y'all! I just got home from Arkansas this afternoon and I don't think I could be any more tired. :P I had a good time, though! I had my posts on a schedule so I wasn't able to remind y'all in my last post... BUT send me some questions for my Q&A video! Any questions you can come up with. I'll put the video together within the next few days, with my lovely sista! So askkkk away!

Talk to y'all soon! :)

Beach Baby

Now for the perfect summa neon! Jesse's Girl- Beach Baby. I miss the beach! :(

This is for sure a neon. Like y'all couldn't tell. I love it, though! I love pinks in the spring/summer. I used three coats and after every coat it immediately dried matte. Like faster than any other polish I've seen. So of course I added a thick top coat. I usually don't leave polishes matte, it's not my favorite look. The only problem with this one is the chipping. I've worn it once before, and the very next day it started chipping. So that's not fun. But it was fun to wear while it lasted. I found this at Rite Aid and I think it was close to $3. Not bad! :)

What do y'all think? Thanks for stopping by!

Set the Nude

Today I'm showing y'all Ulta- Set the Nude.

Like pretty much every polish I own, I love this! This is kind of a chalky grey/really light tan. I used three coats. The first coat looked pretty streaky, so I was worried that the color wouldn't build right or that you would see streaks no matter how many coats you put on. But I was wrong! After the second coat, it started to look a lot better. And the third coat made it perfect. I used a top coat to even everything out and I love the way it looks! It can look really grey indoors. My Mom wore this a while back and got a lot of compliments on it. Very pretty neutral if that's what you're into. :)

What do y'all think? Thanks for reading!
Oh and check the post below! Send me questions for a Q&A video!
