Throwback Polish: Wet n Wild Cool Blue Blast

Hey y'all! Happy Wednesday! I absolutely love Wednesdays because I don't have work or classes, so I can sleep in as late as I want. I can actually do that on Mondays, too. I have an online class that I work on, but that doesn't require me to get up early or anything. So those are my favorite days of the week! You'd think that Saturday would be my favorite, but it depends on if I'm working or not. So yeah! I wanted to fill y'all in just a little bit before I get into the real material of this post. Ok, so last week I started classes at the University of Memphis. Oh my gosh was that overwhelming! I thought I was going to get so lost and be super late to all my classes. Well that never happened! And the campus is so easy to navigate. So I really love it. It's so so SO much better than where I was, and I'm so thankful that I had the opportunity to make the move. I don't think I would be as happy with myself if I was still at Southwest, so this has all around been awesome for me. So that's what's been going on with me! I have a REALLY exciting weekend ahead of me, and y'all will get to hear all about that soon. :)

I was going through my polish the other day, looking at all the polishes I've had for years and years and years. I mean some of these go back to when I was really little. So I thought I could feature them on here every once in a while. The one I'm showing y'all today is Wet n Wild Cool Blue Blast. This is obviously a really old one, because that bottle is so different now! I remember this used to be my favorite color ever! My mom would never let me wear it though! HA! She preferred pinks for me. I was asking her about that the other day, and her reasoning really made sense. If you have little girls, you want them to look sweet and cute, and not have weird looking nails. So it makes perfect sense to me, now, why she never wanted me to wear it. However, when I was little, it just made me mad! It was my favorite! But looking at it now, it's not as awesome as some other colors I have. I can see why I liked it, though. :)
It's very hard not to get crazy streaks when applying this. I had a really hard time with that. I used three coats to try and even that out. I still love this polish. It just has those memories associated with it, and it's just funny to think about now. Do y'all have a polish with a story in your collection?

Thank y'all for reading! :)

Wet n Wild: Blue Moon + Essie: Shine of the Times

Hey y'all! I'm going to show y'all a nail combination that I guest blogged a few months back. I used Wet n Wild Blue Moon as a base and topped it off with Essie Shine of the Times. I really love how this turned out. The blue base on its own is actually really gorgeous, but when you top it with Shine of the Times it is even better. Take a look!

I remember wanting Sally Hansen's Hidden Treasure for the longest time. I could never find it! And then when I did find a bottle of it, it was on a clearance rack and it looked like half the bottle was missing. So I never got it. But this Essie looks identical to it and I love it! The flakes take on all different colors when you put it on top of a color like this. I love the red/orange flakes in the shade. It's just so gorgeous! I'd also like to say that Wet n Wild has some really great polishes. The quality is great, and the price is even better!

So what do y'all think of this combo? Is it something you would try? What has been your favorite nail polish combination and why? Do you use Wet n Wild polishes often?

Thank y'all for reading! I'm off to work! :)

Wet n Wild: Night Prowl

Hey y'all! Happy Sunday! I only have one more week til I start classes. And my birthday is on Saturday. I think it's gonna be a kinda busy week. Oh well!
Today I wanted to show y'all Wet n Wild Night Prowl. I bought this one a week or two ago and I'm sooo glad I did! It's got a blackened base with tons of purple glitter. It is sooo gorgeous! I think it's perfect for fall, especially around Halloween. I took a lot of pictures, so check it out!

I needed three coats, but I think a more skilled painter could get away with two. The first coat is pretty sheer, but the color builds so nicely. It's one of those polishes that looks like it's glowing from underneath, kinda. I do have to tell y'all that when it dries it feels a little rough, so you might want a top coat. But other than that, I didn't have any trouble with this polish. I'm usually very pleased with Wet n Wild. These Wild Shine polishes are only $0.99, so definitely check them out. And the color selection is pretty good!

So what do y'all think? Do any of y'all have this polish? If so, let me know so I can check it out on your blog!

Thanks for reading! I hope everyone has a fantastic week. :)

A Look at My Collection: Yellows

I'm sure y'all are tired of seeing nail wheels with colors from my collection, but that's all I've got for now! I really like the color on my nails right now and I don't want to change it. So today y'all are going to see my yellows! This one is not as picture heavy, because I only have seven yellows in my collection. Weird? I don't know. Yellows are such a pain. But anyway! Here they are.

1. Wet n Wild: Goldmine
2. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Mellow Yellow

3. OPI: Banana Bandanna
4. Sinful Colors: Unicorn

5. N.Y.C.: Taxi Yellow Creme
6. China Glaze: Lemon Fizz
7. China Glaze: Solar Power

So that's it! What are y'all's favorites? I really like China Gaze Lemon Fizz. My Mom actually just bought that for me a few days ago. It's such a pretty, creamy yellow. And there's not any shimmer or anything. Maybe this will be my favorite pastel yellow! I've been on a search for the perfect yellow for some time now. But I just get so mad at yellows. So we'll see!

A Look at My Collection: Purples

Today I'm going to show y'all my collection of purples. I love wearing purple, especially in the fall. I'm glad I did this because now I know which purples I'm most definitely going to wear in the fall. :)

1. Brucci: Violet Rage
2. Sinful Colors: Purple Diamond

3. OPI: Parlez-vous OPI?
4. Sally Hansen: No Name

5. China Glaze: Avalanche
6. Orly: Charged Up

7. Borghese: Stellare Notte
8. E.L.F.: Royal Purple

9. 10: Signed, Sealed, & Delivered
10. Wet n Wild: Eggplant Frost

11. Chi: Behind Closed Doors
12. Nars: Tokaido Express

13. Sinful Colors: Daddy's Girl
14. N.Y.C.: Chinatown

15. OPI: Siberian Nights
16. OPI: Lincoln Park After Dark
17. OPI: Give Me Moor!

I know a lot of these look black, but I promise y'all they're purple! Also, Daddy's Girl (Sinful Colors- #13) looks blue, but it is purple. It doesn't photograph very well. And I'm calling Borghese-Stellare Notte purple because, to me, it is. It flashes a lot of different colors, but I mostly see purple. What are y'all's favorites? I'm loving Chi Behind Closed Doors and Nars Tokaido Express. I think I'll get a lot of wear out of those this fall.

A Look at My Collection: Reds

Today I wanted to show y'all my collection of reds. I've said before that I don't have that many reds, and I find that weird because it's my favorite color. Right now I have 13 in my collection. Not even enough to fill up a whole nail wheel! But that's okay. I like the reds I have and I know I'm going to wear them a lot this fall. :)

1. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Red Carpet
2. Chi: He's Chi-ting On Me
3. Sinful Colors: Sugar Sugar

4. Savvy by Femme Couture: Shimmer Time
5. Borghese: Venetian Red
6. Wet n Wild: Burgundy Frost

7. Essie: Rock Star Skinny
8. NYC: 211 A
9. Ulta: Steppin Out

10. OPI: Chick Flick Cherry
11. Sally Hansen Salon: Hollywood Scarlet

12. Wet n Wild: Red Red
13. Wet n Wild: Crazed

So that's my collection! Like I said, red is my favorite color and I really like to wear it on my nails. But, I'm not a big fan of the staining that reds *always* leave behind. It feels like no matter what you do, or how careful you are... you will still get horrible stains. Do any of y'all have any tips or tricks for removing red polish? Do y'all like to wear red? What's your favorite color to wear on your nails?
