Where I've Been, What I've Been Doing, What's Been On My Nails, What's On My Nails Now, and Why Haven't I Blogged In So Long?!?

Oh my good Lord. It has been forever and a day since I have even looked at my own blog. I cannot tell y'all how much I have missed it though! I have been through some crazy stuff and blogging has obviously taken the back seat. I mean, it's not like I forgot I had a blog, but I lost the inspiration to blog. I'm slowly getting back into it, not to mention slowly getting back into doing my nails on a somewhat regular basis. I think I need to really fill y'all in. I have the urge to write my heart out, so I hope y'all are ready. :)

So I guess I should start kinda where I left off. I think the last time I posted was back in January. Well let me tell y'all, things started going downhill pretty fast. At the end of January my boyfriend and I broke up. That put me in such a weird place. I was SO ready to get the hell out of Memphis. Actually, just the whole state of Tennessee. I was so out of here. Obviously that didn't work out. I'm still here. But that still affected me so negatively. I was hurt, sad, and then just plain mad. It was a weird situation. But now the semester is over and I can kind of wash my hands clean of all the bad stuff that happened. It really wasn't fun though, and it has taken me such a long time to get over it. I'm kinda mad at myself for being that torn up about it and becoming so fixated on being with someone. I have finally found some peace in not dating anyone right now. So, needless to say, I did NOT feel like blogging after all that. I was already falling behind on my blogging before then, but it just stopped after that. Obviously.

The last few months have been kind of hard on my nails. I had only been wearing Shellac, and I just recently took that off and went back to normal nail polish. I love Shellac though! You can go months without changing out the polish, and just get fills. It was so low maintenance! I got used to not having to keep up with my nails. It was also great for work. I didn't have to worry about chips when unpacking new merchandise, or breaking my nails. Shellac keeps them super strong and ain't nothin gonna chip it! :) I highly recommend it for vacations if you don't want to have to worry with chips. Or for people who always end up with smudges or sheet marks (me!). It stays in place one hundred percent. It's awesome, basically.

So I'm back to my nail polish addiction. Also, pink has really been my thing lately. I had pink Shellac forever. And after that came off, I still had pink nails. But I went to the nail salon Sunday and couldn't resist a little Urban Outfitters Smush. Hands down my favorite summertime blue. It's so perfect. And y'all know I have a love affair with UO polish. This picture is actually really terrible. I took it with my iphone, so the quality is not up to par with past photos.

What else has been new? I'm sure there are a ton of things I'm leaving out. But one thing that I really, really want to mention is that I took a campus tour of the University of Arkansas over my spring break! I have been to the campus several times, but I had never gotten a full campus tour. So over spring break, my grandmother and I decided it was the perfect time to get one. And I fell in love over again. I honestly cannot see myself anywhere else. I know I still have things to accomplish here, and I'm definitely not even close to being done with that. I'm considering switching over to the University of Memphis in the fall so I can really see what college classes are like. I'm in community college right now. It's not my favorite. I think I need to challenge myself more. And I've taken and passed all the classes Southwest could offer me, it's just time to move on. And I'm so ready! But I really want to finish everything up at the U of A. The atmosphere is amazing. I can't get enough of it, and I just need to be a part of it. It's where I have to be! :)

So that's it y'all! I am really excited to get back into blogging. I have lots of polish saved up for swatching and wearing. I hope y'all are all doing great and looking forward to a great summer. I'll be back on here soon, or when this polish starts chipping. ;)

Tell me what's been up! What have I missed? How are y'all??!!?? Y'all can follow me on twitter if you're really interested in what I have to say, just see my sidebar! Thank y'all so much for reading and sticking around! :)

Urban Outfitters: Hangover

Happy Friday, y'all! I'm hoping for a good weekend, which includes convincing my Dad that he wants to take me to the first Razorback football game. I'm pretty convincing, so I'll let y'all know how that turns out!
I'm showing y'all my last Urban Outfitters polish. I only own four, but I know I will accumulate more. This is Hangover, a light peachy toned orange. It's a super creamy polish with no shimmer whatsoever. Maybe that sounds boring to y'all, but in my opinion, not so much. I don't own any other color similar to this. For some reason it reminds of like an orange creamsicle. Is that even a thing? I don't know. But this is a gorgeous light orange shade that is perfect for spring and summer.

I needed three coats for this one, but that didn't bother me. The formula rocks, so it's not an uphill battle trying to make the polish look neat on your nails. You know how sometimes that third coat can just get icky and goopy? This did no such thing. And that's why I love UO polish so much. I also used a top coat to make it extra shiny. I highly suggest picking up Hangover if you're ever in UO!

So what do y'all think? Are any of y'all orange fans? Would this be a shade you'd want to add to your collection? Have you ever tried UO polishes? Do you love them as much as I do? Let me know!

Thanks for reading! I hope y'all all have a great weekend! :)

Urban Outfitters: Barstool

I forgot that I still had some Urban Outfitters polishes to show y'all. All I swatched was this one- Barstool. I still have Hangover to swatch. Barstool is a light, cloudy, dusty looking blue.

I'm still in love with UO polishes, y'all! I can't get enough, seriously. The formula rocks. The colors are unique. And the bottle shape is just too cute. I thought I was going to have a hard time getting this polish to the bottle color. But nope! The first coat was super sheer. But it builds! Three coats was the perfect amount and I was able to achieve the bottle color. I love it!

What do y'all think? I strongly urge y'all to check out UO if you haven't. They do have a website you can look at, too. If you live near one, go get some polish! They're only $5 each and the last few times I've gone, it's buy 2 for $8. Great deal! Let me know if y'all ever get some or have swatched some I haven't seen.

Thanks for reading! :)

Urban Outfitters: Tanline

Happy Wednesday! Today I'm showing y'all Urban Outfitters Tanline.

This is what I'm referring to as a neon coral. I needed three coats for full opacity and it dries matte pretty quickly, so I used a top coat for a shiny finish. The formula on this one was not as good as Smush, but still not bad. It was a little thick and not as easily controlled, but I was able to make it look good. I think you should let each coat dry completely before painting more. I think I'll try that next time because I really love this polish! Urban Outfitters has not let me down at all, and I'm so happy I discovered their polishes!

What do y'all think? Does anyone love UO polish as much as I do? I still have Hangover and Barstool to show y'all. Which would you like to see first? Hangover is a very light, pale orange and Barstool is a medium, jelly blue.
Thanks for reading! :)

Urban Outfitters: Smush

I finally took off Tart Deco last night! I don't know why I waited so long to take it off, but sometimes I just don't have the patience to work with polish. But with all these new colors I've picked up recently, it was time to test them out! So the first one I've swatched is Urban Outfitters Smush. I can tell you right now this is working it's way to being my all time favorite polish!

This was TWO coats of a perfect, almost too good to be true formula! LOVE! At the first coat I was beginning to think it would be a nightmare, but after that second coat it was just pure love. This is much brighter than Essie Turquoise & Caicos. That's good for me because I think it's working a little better with my skin tone. The only other color I can come up with in my collection that this might be similar to is Color Club Blue Light. But I already like this one better because of it only needing two coats.
I am 100% head over heels for Urban Outfitters nail polish. If you have access to UO, get some polish!

Latest Haul!

Do I shop too much? Possibly... Do I buy too much nail polish? Well, yeah. But if I didn't, I wouldn't have this lovely little blog! So welcome to my latest haul. :)

From left to right I have: Sephora by OPI brush-on cuticle oil, CND Stickey Anchoring Base Coat, Essie Limo-Scene, Urban Outfitters Barstool, Urban Outfitters Hangover, Savvy by Femme Couture Shimmer Time, Nina Ultra Pro Sailor.
Lotsa new stuff! I'm excited to try everything out! I desperately needed more cuticle oil. I've had my brush on cuticle oil for almost two years without it running out, so I know this one will last a long time. I love it. I can always get the right amount out and it's just very easy to use. And it's not expensive, like $7 or $8. I've also needed a decent base coat FOREVER. I have no idea what to use. I found the CND at Beauty Max for $5.95. I really hope it's okay. I just need something. I've been using an OPI Ridge Filler, and I do use it a lot, and it works. But I think sometimes it ruins the polish I'm using for a manicure. So I'm on to something else! I'll still use the ridge filler because it does work well for certain polishes.
I picked up the Essie at Beauty Max, too. Actually, my Mom bought it because she's been seeing it around and really likes it. So I didn't have to spend my money on that one- thanks Mama! The two polishes I'm most excited about are the Urban Outfitters! I just went in there today and I LOVE the store. It's so much fun! They have like everything. Including NYX make up and a few nail polishes. We had an UO in Jacksonville, but just recently got one here in the Cooper Young area. It's really a fun place and the layout of this one is really cute. Their polish was buy 2 for $8, so of course I picked some up! I had a hard time picking them out, because honestly, I wanted all of them. Maybe next time! ha! And then the last two, Savvy Shimmer Time and Nina Sailor, I picked up at Sally's. They were both on sale for $0.99! Yay!
So that's my latest haul! It might be time for me to stop for a while, hahah. Today was a much better day. I was able to get out of the house and hang out around Memphis for a few hours. It really made up for yesterday. I went out for Mexican food with my Mom and then we went to Muddy's bake shop in East Memphis. They have *the* best cupcakes ever. They're the perfect size with the perfect amount of icing, and it doesn't feel like you just ate five thousand cupcakes at one time. Does that make sense???? And they're not over-priced, which can be really annoying, because it's just a cupcake, ya know? And then we went to Urban Outfitters. So the day was good! :)

How was everyone's day? What do y'all think about my latest haul? What do y'all want to see first? Does anyone know about the CND base coat? Is it good or just plain awful? Let me know! Happy Friday! I hope everyone has a great weekend! :)
