A Look at My Collection: Purples

Today I'm going to show y'all my collection of purples. I love wearing purple, especially in the fall. I'm glad I did this because now I know which purples I'm most definitely going to wear in the fall. :)

1. Brucci: Violet Rage
2. Sinful Colors: Purple Diamond

3. OPI: Parlez-vous OPI?
4. Sally Hansen: No Name

5. China Glaze: Avalanche
6. Orly: Charged Up

7. Borghese: Stellare Notte
8. E.L.F.: Royal Purple

9. 10: Signed, Sealed, & Delivered
10. Wet n Wild: Eggplant Frost

11. Chi: Behind Closed Doors
12. Nars: Tokaido Express

13. Sinful Colors: Daddy's Girl
14. N.Y.C.: Chinatown

15. OPI: Siberian Nights
16. OPI: Lincoln Park After Dark
17. OPI: Give Me Moor!

I know a lot of these look black, but I promise y'all they're purple! Also, Daddy's Girl (Sinful Colors- #13) looks blue, but it is purple. It doesn't photograph very well. And I'm calling Borghese-Stellare Notte purple because, to me, it is. It flashes a lot of different colors, but I mostly see purple. What are y'all's favorites? I'm loving Chi Behind Closed Doors and Nars Tokaido Express. I think I'll get a lot of wear out of those this fall.

A Look at My Collection: Reds

Today I wanted to show y'all my collection of reds. I've said before that I don't have that many reds, and I find that weird because it's my favorite color. Right now I have 13 in my collection. Not even enough to fill up a whole nail wheel! But that's okay. I like the reds I have and I know I'm going to wear them a lot this fall. :)

1. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Red Carpet
2. Chi: He's Chi-ting On Me
3. Sinful Colors: Sugar Sugar

4. Savvy by Femme Couture: Shimmer Time
5. Borghese: Venetian Red
6. Wet n Wild: Burgundy Frost

7. Essie: Rock Star Skinny
8. NYC: 211 A
9. Ulta: Steppin Out

10. OPI: Chick Flick Cherry
11. Sally Hansen Salon: Hollywood Scarlet

12. Wet n Wild: Red Red
13. Wet n Wild: Crazed

So that's my collection! Like I said, red is my favorite color and I really like to wear it on my nails. But, I'm not a big fan of the staining that reds *always* leave behind. It feels like no matter what you do, or how careful you are... you will still get horrible stains. Do any of y'all have any tips or tricks for removing red polish? Do y'all like to wear red? What's your favorite color to wear on your nails?

Happy Fourth of July!

I wore this last year for the Fourth of July, and this year I'm sporting some pink/orange nails... so that's not real festive. This is also a Borghese that was EXTREMELY marked down. Like to a dollar. :) Borghese: Venetian Red...

So what are y'all doing for the 4th? Isn't it weird having it on a Monday? I think it feels so weird! I hope y'all are all enjoying your day!

Stellare Notte

Hey y'all! I want to show off Stellare Notte by Borghese today. It's such a pretty polish, but I kinda have a love/hate relationship with it. Read on! :)

I tried so hard to capture the shimmer in this that turns from purple to green to a sort of blue. But I don't think I got it. :(
I think this is a really unique polish, and one that I had considered getting for the longest time before I *actually* got it. It has loads of color changing shimmer in a blackened blue/purple base. It goes from purple to green to a blue tint. And I definitely don't own anything else like this. However, I have such a hard time applying this. It's got a weird consistency, and drying time seems to take forever! I'm not intrigued by that special brush they claim to have, because to me, it's just a brush. And the price is definitely too much for what I'm really getting. The color is really interesting though. And I kind of enjoy the shape of the bottle, and the brush is easy to hold. But should I really have to pay that much for those things? I really don't think so, and that's why I don't own many bottles of Borghese. I usually only pick one up if it's majorly marked down or a color that really catches my eye. So what do y'all think? Does anyone have this polish? If so, does anyone else have the same problems/complaints as I do? Let me know!

Today was a busy day! I am sooo wiped out. Tomorrow is going to be spent packing for Florida and scheduling some posts while I'm gone! I want to say a little WELCOME to all my new followers! Y'all make my day and thank you so much for stopping by! I also love the comments that y'all leave me. It's so nice to know that people actually read my blog and can get something out of it. I really enjoy doing this. Thanks for reading! :)

Hauls!

Despite my lack of blog posts, I've still managed to get my hands on a few new polishes. So I thought a "haul" post would be a good idea to get me back into the swing of things! :) These photos are terrible. Let's just say I'm not the tech-savvy one in the family.

Essie has kind of been my favorite brand lately... I think it's because it's become easier to find them. You can find them at Walgreens, WalMart, etc. I love their selection of blues, and even though I own the beautiful Turquoise & Caicos, I pick it up almost every time I see it, forgetting that I have it at home ready to be used. I'm weird. I bought all of these (with the exception of Mochacino, which my Mom purchased) at the regular price. It's about $8 a bottle. I bought them on separate occasions, but they're still a bit pricy. From left to right we have Beach Bum Blu, Turquoise & Caicos, Tart Deco, and Mochacino.
And who could pass up a brand new bottle of OPI? Two of these I bought a LONG time ago. I've worn them, but never posted them here. The first two are Samoan Sand and Bubble Bath. I found those at Target. My Mom bought the last one, Mimosas for Mr. & Mrs., last weekend at Ulta. She's sporting the color right now, and it looks perfect. But her nails are also perfect. :) We're both really drawn to these soft, neutral colors.
I always saw Jesse's Girl polishes on other blogs and never knew where to find them. I popped into Rite Aid a few months back and found a small display with a few of their colors. I like to buy new brands in two's if they're fairly inexpensive so I ended up with Beach Baby, the neon pink, and Julieg. I've already posted Julieg, and it's my go-to summer color. It's just perfect and I can't tell you how many times I've used it. I love it. These were $2.99 each if I can remember correctly. And I think it was buy one get one half off or something like that. It was kind of a long time ago so I'm not 100% on those details. They're really good, though. I'm pretty sure I'll go back for more. :)

Yay for a really blurry pic. This one wouldn't cooperate, so I'm sorry! I had been eye-ing a few of these Insta-Dri's for some time. I've never really heard great things about their formulas, but I had a Target gift card burning a hole in my wallet, so why not?! I got Blue Away and Jade Jump. I tested them out and I really like them! I'll have to get used to the awkward brush, but I'm really loving the colors! :) They were about $4.00 each.
The rest of these are just random finds. Back in the fall I bought Borghese Stellare Notte. I have mixed feeling about it. I wore it once and I just don't know if I love it. I've seen it on a bajillion blogs and it looks great. I think I need to wear it again and do a better job of application and then see how I feel. It is a pretty unique color. Ulta- Set the Nude and Sonia Kashuk- Tauped are colors my Mom picked out. They're both really pretty. Set the Nude can look really grey, so that's unique for my ever-growing collection. I bought butter London Jaffa and Zoya Gemma together on a trip to Ulta. LOVE Jaffa! It's a really great summer color. And I can see me rocking Gemma some time in the fall. I had a $3 off coupon for Ulta so I didn't have to spend a million dollars! I also had no idea Zoya's were sold at Ulta, so that was an awesome surprise. And having such easy access to butter London polishes won't be good for my bank account. ;) oh well! I love all these colors. :)
I want to swatch these soon! Which ones do y'all wanna see? Talk to y'all soon and thanks for keeping up with me! :)

Happy Fourth of July!

Hey ya'll! I want to start by saying Happy Fourth of July! What is everyone doing for this holiday? So far I haven't done much- but I slept in this morning... that's always good. :)

I decided to just go with red nails for today. I wasn't really in the mood to go all out... and I really enjoy having red nail polish on, so why not? I know in a previous post I expressed my disappointment with Borghese polishes... but I recently picked up this gorgeous red. Why you ask? Well... it was 75% off! And I loved the red. I still had the same problems I did with my other bottle of Borghese, but I'm not going to complain anymore. The red is just too pretty.

So here are the pics: Borghese~ Venetian Red.

I'm not sure if ya'll can tell from the pictures, but this polish is a shimmer. I used two coats and the application was okay. Drying time... not so much. But anyway... I hope ya'll have a great day!

Talk to ya'll soon.

Espresso Brown

This is definitely not a summer color... but it is one that I've needed to post for some time now.
This is Borghese~ Espresso Brown. I picked this up in Walgreens many months ago because, depending on my mood, rich brown shades catch my attention. They're so fun to wear in the Fall months... they are for me anyway. This brown was certainly not a let down. However, I was NOT impressed with the drying time. This is the only bottle of Borghese that I own. And it will probably be one of the few I ever own. The price was a little much, and I didn't like the color selection. It was a little boring. They do carry some nice neutral colors which I tend to go for in the hotter months.
I used three coats in the pictures below.

What do ya'll have to say about Borghese? Anybody have the same problems as me?
