Milani: Gold

Hey y'all! I'm typing this up before I head off to class. I found this gold glitter by Milani at Walgreens a while back. I'm not usually one for gold glitter, but for some reason, this one really stood out to me. I swatched it here alone, without any kind of base. I think you could probably wear this alone, if you wanted to. The glitter is pretty chunky and if you let it dry in between coats, you can probably get more even coverage. Take a look!

I used three coats just to get as much glitter on my nails as possible. I really really like this glitter! I'd like to go back and get the other Milani glitters. I think there's a multi colored one, and like maybe a pink? I'll just have to wait til I'm off my "no buy."

What do y'all think of Gold? Do y'all have any Milani glitters? Or just plain Milani polishes? Do y'all like this brand? Let me know!

Fresh Teal

Well, kind of late for St. Patrick's Day, but this'll just have to do. :)

It's getting warm outside & I'm breaking out my neons & other bright shades. I have a thing for teal, & after I wear it for a while the love kinda fades. But, I go through phases where it's all I wanna wear. I guess this is it! Andddd I guess it kinda goes for the holiday. Oh well. I'm just lovin' it & staring at my nails a whole lot. ;)

I'm pretty sure I've shown y'all this color before. It was probably just a swatch, though. This time I did a full manicure with it. It's superrrrrrr bright! But, most neons usually dry matte. This did no such thing. It was a normal glossy finish. I added a top coat just because it will last a little longer. I've noticed that most of my manicures are lasting up to a week. The top coat I use is Nicole by OPI Top Coat Plus. Why is this cheap top coat making my manicures last so long? I use "cheap" loosely, because it was really about $7 and I guess that's not super cheap. But compared to other brands, yeah it is. Anyway, I'm totally in love with the top coat. I know I'll be running out soon. I think it also dries the polish a little faster. Doesn't get much better than that! Especially since I get a little impatient waiting on my nails to dry. So y'all might have a new top coat to try. I used three coats with this color and it applies great. It was really smooth and easy to work with. I only have two bottles of Milani, but I like them. I don't live near a CVS anymore, so I haven't seen any of the latest colors. But I've had no problems, so a trip out to CVS might be in store sometime soon. ;)

Fresh Teal

This is Milani~ Fresh Teal... one from the Neon collection. This is the one that stood out the most to me.

It never really dried matte, but I put a top coat on it anyway. I was really surprised, because this one was really opaque. Two medium coats and it was perfect. :) I think this color is perfect for summer and I just love it all around. :) The application was great, but Milani's are usually good. :)

Pink Pop+Love Your Life

Hey ya'll. Just a quick post of my nails of the day... yesterday.

Don't enlarge these pictures. I warn you! If I thought my cuticles looked bad in my last post... I was wrong. They look *HORRIBLE* here.

Anyway, this is two thick coats of Milani~ Pink Pop. And, one of Nicole by OPI~ Love Your Life. I have a ridge filler on the bottom as a base coat and a top coat, as well. No application problems. :)

Polishes You Haven't Seen

Hey ya'll. Just FYI... this is a picture heavy post. 

Just wanted to show ya'll some polishes you haven't seen. I have them organized by brand. Enjoy :)

Here's Sally Hansen~ Flash. It's a really pretty bright blue with a nice amount of shimmer in it. I used two coats here, no application problems. :)


Sally Hansen Hards As Nails Xtreme Wear~ Fuchsia Power. This is definitely my go to HOT pink. I absolutely love it, and I have used A LOT of it. I used two coats because it is quite pigmented. You could almost use one coat. No application issues other than my bottle is old so it's running a bit thick.




Sally Hansen Diamond Strength~ Platinum. This is a truly AWESOME color. It flashes green and pink in certain lighting. I wasn't really able to capture that on the camera, SO... ya'll will just have to go get it and try it out! I used three coats. I didn't apply it very well, but that had nothing to do with the polish.


Wet n' Wild~ Lavender Pearlescent. I, HONESTLY, don't understand that name. This just looks pink to me... with a frosted look. Anyway, two coats. No application problems.
Wet n' Wild~ Mauve Frost. This one just looks brown to me. Frosted brown anyway. I guess you can kind of see the mauve in there. Another two-coater. No application problems.

N.Y.C.~ Park Avenue. These are such good polishes. And, the bottle is quite easy to store. This is a slight lavender color. Another one with the frosted effect. I used three coats, no application problems.

N.Y.C.~ Bryant Park. I used two coats. The color is kind of like a light caramel.


Sinful Colors~ Irish Green. I got this close to St. Patrick's Day. Obviously a good color for that holiday. Kind of a jelly. It's a neon as well, and it can dry a bit matte. I used four coats. If you put glitter or something on top you can get away with three coats. No application issues with this one.
Cover Girl Nail Slicks~ Citrus Punch. Such an old color, but still applied very well. I've had this one FOREVER. But, I love this shade of orange. I used three coats.


Cover Girl Boundless Color~ Bronze Beauty. A really sparkly gold. Lovely application. Two coats.

Milani~ Pink Pop. A bubblegum pink but maybe a little darker. Two-three coats works great. Great application, as well.

Hot Topic. No name. I'm calling it Yellow-Orange. It's between those two colors. Horrible application. Never dries... always streaky. I did my best with the pics. You can see how streaky it is. And, it's matte... but I don't have a problem with that. :)

Petites~ Bronze Baby. Really a favorite of mine. I love those dark browns and mushroom type colors. This is super shiny, and so pretty on the nails!! :) Two-three coats for this one as well. Pretty good application. :)

Sally Girl~ Type A. Pink-purple shade. Almost opaque in one coat. I used two anyway. Dries matte!!! YAY!!!! :) Great application.

Sally Girl~ Dumped. Kind of don't understand the names on some of these Sally Girl polishes, but oh well. I guess this is what you would call a metallic turquoise. Two coats. Went on super smooth! Perfect!

Sally Girl~ Mean Streak. Not a fancy color, just a cool navy blue. Love it, and decided to keep my nails this color! :) Two coats works perfectly for this shade. Almost opaque in one coat. :) No application problems.
