Always Playing Catch Up with Y'all

I know I'm always saying I'm gonna be a better blogger and blah blah blah. I'm just not consistent. I probably won't all of a sudden post every day because it's summer, either. I'm gonna be pretty busy this summer but I do want to at least get on here and keep up with y'all a little more than I have been. I've done so much since the last time I checked in! It's so hard to remember what all I've done. So I just went through all the pictures on my phone and picked out some to share.

So let's start with my spring break trip to NYC! I think I mentioned in my last post that I would be going there. I went with my family and we spent about 4 days in the city. We actually stayed in Times Square. Let me just start by saying I'm not a huge fan of Times Square. It scared me! The first night we went out to find a place to eat and EVERYONE in the WORLD was there. I like space and being able to see things other than buildings. So I had like a mini panic attack, but I got over it. The next few days there were a lot less people. The view from our hotel was amazing, though. We were on what seemed like the 90th floor looking down on Times Square. Pretty amazing. Here's a few pics from the trip.
This is from the very top of the Empire State Building, one of my favorites parts of the trip. What an incredible view. It's amazing to think about what this city is and how incredible it really is.

Times Square. This was just outside our hotel.
And this is the view from our hotel the first night.
Just hours before we left I got to see the naked cowboy, definitely a highlight.

The trip was overwhelming, awesome, tiring, stressful, and fun. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to go because I think everyone needs to go at least once just to see what it's all about. It really is incredible. I still think back and it's really like nothing else. It does scare me though! It's such a big city and I'm so not into that. The subway was so cool, but so confusing, at least to me. My sister totally understood it and understood how it worked and everything. I'm over there like, well, I hope it gets us where we gotta go. I'm lost either way. I've said this a lot to my family and friends: If I was dropped back at our hotel all by myself, I could get to ONE place, the Hard Rock cafe. I would be totally and completely lost otherwise. The city is so big! It's amazing how much is in it and how everything works. So anyway, that was my trip to NYC. I can tell y'all that I definitely love where I live and I appreciate the smallness of it. I don't think I could ever be a city girl. So needless to say, I went to Arkansas as soon as I could when we got back. Wide open spaces are my thing. :)

These are both taken from my Great Grandparent's farm. I'm from the delta of Arkansas and I have never appreciated it as much as I do now. NYC made me appreciate the uniqueness of each city and state. Our country is one beautiful place with so many different landscapes, all beautiful in their own way.
And then just one of my favorite backroads... :)

The other day I went to see Blackberry Smoke in concert at Minglewood Hall! If you haven't listened to their music, I would definitely say go take a listen! It's a country-southern rock band out of Atlanta. They remind me a lot of Skynyrd and The Allman Brothers. And let me just say, they are a million times better in concert. I had the best night listening to them!
This is the band that went on before them, A Thousand Horses. Check them out, too! They're from Nashville and have the same kinda sound as Blackberry Smoke.
And then Blackberry Smoke. I can't wait to see them live again!

My post wouldn't be complete or relevant to this blog without some nail pics! I've had shellac a lot, but I've also been wearing basically the same shades all the time. I did some pink for Easter, some lilac and then some sheer pink. I've been wearing OPI's Princesses Rule! a lot lately. I had it in shellac and then went out and bought the polish. It's a soft, sheer pink that's really pretty. I also like it because chips aren't as noticeable when you wear it, so you can get away with wearing it longer. Of course I don't have pics of that. I do, however, have pics of a new favorite OPI pink, Meep Meep Meep from the Muppets collection. I love it so much and even got a co-worker hooked on it! :)

Meep Meep Meep only needs two coats and it lasted about a week for me! I'm wearing it on my toes right now and it's so pretty and sparkly!
This is Minsk by Mavala. My Godmother gave me three Mavala polishes and I think she got them in Switzerland. They are some of the best polishes! Super pigmented and smooth.

I have a really awesome summer job taking care of two kids during the week. They have a big, beautiful pool in their backyard, so guess what we'll be doing everyday? Don't be too jealous of my view! ;)

I hope y'all are all doing well and enjoying the summer so far! Also Happy Memorial Day! God Bless the USA and those who fight bravely for our freedom!

Talk to y'all soon! :)

The Joys of Instagram

Hey y'all! My spring break just started and I'm stoked! I'm headed to NYC for a few days with my family. This will be my first time in New York, and kind of my first time going up north... I'm southern. I'm gonna say y'all a lot. Anyway! I'm sure I'll have lots to say and share when I get back home from the trip. I just got an Instagram, per the request of the kids I babysit (how behind the times am I??? these kids all have instagram accounts and I'm over here just tweeting and facebooking... silly me...) so y'all can follow me on there to keep up with me. It's kinda funny because I really just got it to appease the kids since I spend almost all of my time babysitting. But it's kinda cool and I like it, my username or whatever is livylulu93 or you can just search my whole name I guess. I just wanted to share some of the pics I've taken recently.
Nothin better than sweet tea in a mason jar... ;)
I was rockin this pony tail, and I wanted to document how awesome I thought it looked at the time.
And then just me :)

I hope y'all are all doing great! Are any of y'all on spring break? I guess I should at least mention my nails. I'm rockin some shellac right now, just a neutral shade with light glitter. I had a French manicure and wanted to switch it up.

I'll talk to y'all soon! :)

It's Been A While...

I always say I'm gonna get back to regular posting... it never happens. Y'all know the deal. But I do have a review that I was supposed to do like fifty years ago. So I actually do have that coming up. And it REALLY IS COMING because I've already written it out and put it on a schedule. Y'all are welcome. But I thought I should like update before I just throw a random review out there. I'm gonna try to sum up the end of 2012 and beginning of this year with a few pictures. I was going through the pics on my phone and I noticed that I have very few pictures of all the awesome things I've done. I get picture happy when I'm at an Arkansas game, but otherwise it's like I don't have a camera on my phone. Anyway, let's get started.
I have been obsessed with French manicures. Obsessed. I have no idea why. I mean I've always loved them because I think they look clean and classy. But I also like bling and bright colors. I've had a couple shellac French manicures and have loved them. My nails will go with everything I wear and they don't chip or get messed up. So easy and low maintenance! They're just really pricy.
My awesome Godmother lives in France and she was back in town recently. She gave me some AMAZING nail polish! It's a brand based in Switzerland called Mavala. She got me a really pretty red (that is the perfect Razorback red!!!!) a gorgeous gray and then a sparkly pink glitter. I didn't get pictures of the bottles, but I took a picture of the red on my nails, I have the glitter on my ring finger. This polish is seriously the best. Super pigmented and possibly the smoothest and easiest polish to apply EVER. I love it! So thank you, Michelle! And y'all can check out her blog and see what she's up to in France.
I went to a rodeo back in December. I love going to rodeos! So much fun. I went to the same one last year. I don't remember the exact title or whatever, but it's college students from all over competing. My favorite part is when they ride the bulls, but of course I didn't get a picture of that part.
And I just liked this picture. I thought the sky was so pretty, in the mirror and just out the window.

I've been really busy. The spring semester started about a month ago and I got really overwhelmed because my classes are pretty hard. But I'm getting into it and it's not as bad as I was thinking it would be. Of course, I did drop a class. Well let me tell you why... I have been putting off taking a Biology class because I cannot stand science. And so I registered to take it in the spring online. What was I thinking? Y'all try doing labs online and let me know how it goes. It was impossible. So I will be taking it like a normal person in a real class in the fall. I'm so dumb for choosing to take it online. Honestly, the only kind of class that really works online is one with a bunch of reading involved (like history). Not a really interactive class like Biology. So yeah I dropped it. That's over. And I feel a million times better.

What's been going on with y'all? I'm sorry for not being very consistent with my blogging. :( Y'all can always follow me on twitter or look me up on facebook, because for whatever reason I always have time for that. ;)

The Office Collection From Essie?!?

So I was busy pinning today while I had a break during work. I pin like a million different things, and never focus on, like, just one topic. I go from something like one of those ecard things to a killer new bag that I need. But something I pin a lot of is nail polish, nail art ideas, stuff like that. So today I stumbled upon a collection that Essie is supposedly putting out based off of The Office. I just want to know if anyone knows anything about this!? I did a little research, but I'm not really getting anywhere with that. So if anyone has the details on this, hook a girl up! The Office is one of my absolute favorite shows of all time. The only thing Essie could do better than a collection based off of The Office is a collection based off of Friends. ;)

So here's a link to my Pinterest account. And here's the link to the pin about the collection. Y'all can follow me if you want! I pin way more often that a person should. ;)

And just because I don't want to be severely boring with this post, I'm gonna post something funny I found on Pinterest the other day. Y'all are welcome in advance. Happy Friday! And I hope y'all are all gonna watch some college football tomorrow! I'm already callin' my Hogs! College football is back and all is well in the world again. :)

Catch Up!

Hey y'all! It seems like I'm always playing catch up with this blog, and that's such a shame. But I was having technical difficulties. I think that has all been cleared up, so I'm going to try to get back to posting. I have wanted to jump on here so many times! I miss y'all! And there actually are some polishes I've tried recently that I felt were worthy of mentioning. One of those is a magnetic polish from Sally Hansen! As always, I'm late to the game. Magnetic polish is probably not as exciting as it once was. But, I'm not usually one to try out every new nail trend. Actually, the only reason I picked this one up is because I had an Ulta coupon, and nothing better to buy. But I'm sold! And I want to try other magnetic polishes. I'd love it if y'all would leave some brand names in the comments of ones I need to try! If I can buy them, I will try to feature them here. But for now take a look at Red-y Response!

I'm not exactly sure why they thought this was red??? I think it's more purple-ish. But isn't it kinda awesome?! I really like it! It was so fun to see the way the magnet left that pattern. It literally only takes a few seconds of holding the magnet directly above your nail. It was super quick, which makes this a really easy manicure for anyone on-the-go. This required two coats. The first coat has to dry completely before applying your second coat (which does not take long at all!). As soon as you've painted your second coat, hold the magnet directly over your nail for about ten seconds. This works best if you do each nail individually. I love this. It turned out way cooler than I thought it would. What do y'all think? Has anyone used this brand? Fill me in!

Ok, so I want to kind of go into what I've been up to. I feel bad for not including y'all in my little life. And I actually have a lot of really neat stuff going on in my life. Plus just a few pretty photos that I thought were worth sharing. So if you want to read on, feel free! Here we go!
I took this picture back at the end of May. I was having serious issues with the fact that I was going to take summer courses. I was just so sad that I would miss sunsets like this. I was imaging myself in a sea of homework and endless essays. Whatever! That never happened. Summer classes are a breeeeeeze! I didn't miss stuff like this, but how pretty is that?! I love living out here.
This was around the same time. I love living in the South! ;)
And this is a view off of a rooftop downtown. It was gorgeous! I would love to live in one of those houses right near the river.
And one of the highlights of my summer was picking blackberries in Arkansas! And let me tell y'all, these are a million times better than store-bought. We made a cobbler out of these and it was perfect. I want to pick blackberries every summer from now on. :)

So this summer I've been to Missouri and Arkansas. That really doesn't sound that awesome. But to me, it's been perfect. I've really enjoyed my summer and I'm looking forward to the rest of it. I really want to share my most recent news! I'm transferring from community college to the University of Memphis this fall! I have been accepted and I have decided that I want to teach! I went into college with an undecided major. I really wasn't up to make a decision at the time. I change my mind about everything, everyday. How could I pick a major and be satisfied with it? And most importantly STICK with it?! But this is something that I can see myself doing. I'm going to get my bachelor's degree from Memphis and I will be qualified to teach K-6. But I would really like to get my master's from the University of Arkansas. So that's my long term goal! After I figured all of this out and sat down with a counselor I felt so good! It was a sense of something permanent, and a sense of accomplishment. I have felt so good over the past couple of days, and I have been sharing this information like crazy. So now when people ask my major, I don't have to say "Uhh, I don't know yet." And that in itself is a great thing. Ah I'm so excited! Y'all just don't even know!

That's what's been going on. I'm sure I'll have more to share soon. Most importantly though, I want to hear from y'all! I hope everyone has been great! I'm sorry I haven't caught up with other blogs, but I'm getting back into the swing of everything. Thanks for reading! :)

Where I've Been, What I've Been Doing, What's Been On My Nails, What's On My Nails Now, and Why Haven't I Blogged In So Long?!?

Oh my good Lord. It has been forever and a day since I have even looked at my own blog. I cannot tell y'all how much I have missed it though! I have been through some crazy stuff and blogging has obviously taken the back seat. I mean, it's not like I forgot I had a blog, but I lost the inspiration to blog. I'm slowly getting back into it, not to mention slowly getting back into doing my nails on a somewhat regular basis. I think I need to really fill y'all in. I have the urge to write my heart out, so I hope y'all are ready. :)

So I guess I should start kinda where I left off. I think the last time I posted was back in January. Well let me tell y'all, things started going downhill pretty fast. At the end of January my boyfriend and I broke up. That put me in such a weird place. I was SO ready to get the hell out of Memphis. Actually, just the whole state of Tennessee. I was so out of here. Obviously that didn't work out. I'm still here. But that still affected me so negatively. I was hurt, sad, and then just plain mad. It was a weird situation. But now the semester is over and I can kind of wash my hands clean of all the bad stuff that happened. It really wasn't fun though, and it has taken me such a long time to get over it. I'm kinda mad at myself for being that torn up about it and becoming so fixated on being with someone. I have finally found some peace in not dating anyone right now. So, needless to say, I did NOT feel like blogging after all that. I was already falling behind on my blogging before then, but it just stopped after that. Obviously.

The last few months have been kind of hard on my nails. I had only been wearing Shellac, and I just recently took that off and went back to normal nail polish. I love Shellac though! You can go months without changing out the polish, and just get fills. It was so low maintenance! I got used to not having to keep up with my nails. It was also great for work. I didn't have to worry about chips when unpacking new merchandise, or breaking my nails. Shellac keeps them super strong and ain't nothin gonna chip it! :) I highly recommend it for vacations if you don't want to have to worry with chips. Or for people who always end up with smudges or sheet marks (me!). It stays in place one hundred percent. It's awesome, basically.

So I'm back to my nail polish addiction. Also, pink has really been my thing lately. I had pink Shellac forever. And after that came off, I still had pink nails. But I went to the nail salon Sunday and couldn't resist a little Urban Outfitters Smush. Hands down my favorite summertime blue. It's so perfect. And y'all know I have a love affair with UO polish. This picture is actually really terrible. I took it with my iphone, so the quality is not up to par with past photos.

What else has been new? I'm sure there are a ton of things I'm leaving out. But one thing that I really, really want to mention is that I took a campus tour of the University of Arkansas over my spring break! I have been to the campus several times, but I had never gotten a full campus tour. So over spring break, my grandmother and I decided it was the perfect time to get one. And I fell in love over again. I honestly cannot see myself anywhere else. I know I still have things to accomplish here, and I'm definitely not even close to being done with that. I'm considering switching over to the University of Memphis in the fall so I can really see what college classes are like. I'm in community college right now. It's not my favorite. I think I need to challenge myself more. And I've taken and passed all the classes Southwest could offer me, it's just time to move on. And I'm so ready! But I really want to finish everything up at the U of A. The atmosphere is amazing. I can't get enough of it, and I just need to be a part of it. It's where I have to be! :)

So that's it y'all! I am really excited to get back into blogging. I have lots of polish saved up for swatching and wearing. I hope y'all are all doing great and looking forward to a great summer. I'll be back on here soon, or when this polish starts chipping. ;)

Tell me what's been up! What have I missed? How are y'all??!!?? Y'all can follow me on twitter if you're really interested in what I have to say, just see my sidebar! Thank y'all so much for reading and sticking around! :)

Twitter Question!

Hey y'all! Long time no talk. My bad! My last exam is tomorrow, HALLELUJAH! ;)
I've been wanting to sign up for twitter for a while now, but mostly for this blog. Is it a good way to keep in contact with your followers? I just have no idea how it works. So I'd love it if y'all could leave me some feedback on it. Do any of y'all have a twitter account for your blog? Just let me know what y'all think. :)
Talk to y'all soon!

New Hair!

Hey y'all! I just wanted to a quick post to show y'all my new hair! I went in today to get it cut and I wanted something kinda different. So I ended up just getting it shorter. I did this last year around Christmas time and just loved having something different. Of course I was clear that I still wanted it long enough to be put in a ponytail. That's always a must for me. Like no joke. I get really fed up with my hair sometimes and just put it up so I don't have to deal with it. Take a look!
I'm really loving it! I feel like it's just the right length. I also got my bangs trimmed up and a little layering. One thing I never do is dye my hair. I just want to keep it nice and healthy. I'm sure when I'm much older I'll start coloring it. But for now, I'm only 18 and I see no reason to dye it. Plus I love the natural color of my hair. So that's that!
I had yesterday and today off of work and school (Fall Break) and I've just done a whole lotta nothing! It feels good not to have anything really important to do. On Sunday I went to get my nails done, just because I felt like I deserved it. I was so tired. Which makes me sound like such a baby because all of y'all work a lot harder than I do. But anyway! I wanted a light, calming color so I chose OPI Bubble Bath and I'm loving it. My nails also grew out so they're kind of back to the length they were before. And square! Yay!
I don't work again until Thursday. And school starts back tomorrow. Next week will be pretty good since I only work Friday & Saturday. And my uncle is coming in town. It's gonna be busy, but fun! I also need to show y'all butter London Wallis pretty soon.
Thanks for sticking around & reading! And welcome to all my new followers! Once I reach 200, I'll do something special for y'all.
Thanks for reading! :)

butter London: Victoriana & A Job/Life Update

Hey y'all! I've found a little time to update, so I hope y'all are ready to hear some stuff! But first I want to show you pictures of butter London's Victoriana. I showed y'all the bottle pictures of this one and Wallis back in September. I got them when they went on sale at Ulta. I'm so so so happy I picked this one up! It's the most gorgeous blue with tons of silver shimmer. Take a look!

I seriously believe that you can never go wrong with butter London polish. It's always the most flawless application and it just has the best formula! I only needed two coats for this. Another reason to LOVE it. If they weren't $14 a bottle, y'all better believe I'd need a whole drawer dedicated to the brand. For real. Isn't it gorgeous? What's your favorite butter London shade? Did you pick any up when they were on sale in September?

So as y'all know I'm finally employed! It feels great to have that kind of freedom. I can already tell that things are going to get hectic, stressful, and maybe even a little emotional. At least I know I can get moody when things change. But that's just me. How do y'all balance the real world and life? I'd love to know. I have to balance college, with a boyfriend and social life, with family, with expenses, with babysitting, and with a real job. Am I going a little over board? I know most of y'all have way more to deal with, and I can't even begin to imagine what that's like! But anyway, I think I'm going to really like my job. I'm working at a Hallmark store, so it's mainly cards and gift type items. It's really not that complicated, but sometimes business can be slow. And that's when I go crazy bored. But the very BEST part is that I can wear jeans, so it's casual. Of course I need to look presentable. So no holes in my jeans, and a nice top. No problem. And nail polish? Whatever color I want. Thank the LORD! Ahh! For a first job, I don't think I could have found anything better. I will be working a lot though. I still get to babysit on Wednesdays, so I have that day off. And Sundays, because they're closed. So that's the update on my job!

Other life updates? Umm. I'm sure I could go on and on. Some of my classes seriously bug the $%@# out of me! I think that I get along with people pretty well, but these folks... not so much. Well I say that, but I'm not rude and I don't open my mouth, ever, to say what I really think. I believe it's best that I keep my mouth shut. So it's gonna stay that way. Other than that, things seem to be going okay. Although I am a little stressed with all the new things that are happening in my life, other things seem to be straightening themselves out. For now, at least. I hope things stay fairly normal for a while longer. I love when things go right! Don't y'all?

OH BTW! My Hogs! Oh goodness! What a season we're having! I was so so so proud of them on Saturday night. Quite a game for those little Tigers over in Fayetteville. I love a good pay back game! 5-1 babyyy! :)

So how are all of y'all? What have y'all been up to? Can any of y'all relate to the things I'm going through? I always love to hear what y'all think, so definitely let me know!

Also welcome to my new followers! I'm always happy to have new readers, so thanks for joining!

I'll talk to y'all soon! Thanks for reading. :)

Chanel: Particuliere & An Update

So first of all, I need to apologize for my time away. My life is just ridiculously full of crap. I can't even begin to explain to y'all how stressful it is. I'm getting awesome grades in school, so it's not that big of a deal, but that doesn't mean that my classes aren't still stressful and time consuming. But my goal is to have a really good GPA so that I can transfer to a university easily. But on top of all that, I'm having relationship issues. And I need a job. And I go crazy if I stay in the house too long. Ugh. So that's where I've been, and where I'll probably be for a while. I hope I can get back to every day posting, but if it doesn't happen, I'm sorry. But my goal is that if that doesn't happen I'll at least be posting once a week. But no worries, y'all! I can't forget about this blog because I love it way too much.
So today I wanted to show y'all Chanel Particuliere. I just love this polish! It's just your basic, kind of mud brown. But how perfect is it for fall? I think it's great! Take a look!

I love Chanel. Love. Love. Love. Two coats is plenty for this polish. And the consistency is just right. Ahhh-mazing! I don't even know what else to say about it. ha!
What do y'all think of Particuliere? Do any of y'all have it? What's your favorite Chanel polish? What's your favorite polish for fall? Let me know!
Oh! I also wanted to tell y'all how freakin PROUD I am of my Hogs! They came back from an 18 point deficit to win the game 42-38! HOLLA! Love love love my Razorbacks! Woo Pig Sooie!
Thanks for reading. :)

Vlog 7: Polish Brands to Check Out

Happy Tuesday! It's a weird day here. I'm kind of calling it the day from hell because everything seems to be going wrong. Oh well! Hopefully it'll get better. So here's my seventh vlog.
As I mentioned, one of the windows on my car completely shattered. I love my life! ;) I hope y'all are having a better day than I am.

Thanks for watching and reading! Let me know what y'all would like to see more of in my vlogs! :)

One Polish Haul, Awesome News, & Pinterest!

Hey y'all! I had a pretty exciting weekend! I only bought ONE polish which is totally amazing because that's not usually how I roll. I stopped in Rite Aid to look at polishes and nothing caught my attention except this little CQ polish, Peachy Keen!
I thought it was super cute and the name is cute. I'm excited to try it out. I enjoy my CQ polishes. The formula is usually fine and I always enjoy looking at the display. So why not?!

Ok so now my exciting news! I got a car today! My Dad gave me his 2009 Ford Fusion and I'm in love! I love Fords and always knew I wanted one. I've mentioned before that I really wanted a Ford Escape... but I'm not complaining! I'm so excited to finally have my own car. But it does mean I have to pay for everything. And get a job. I don't want to do either of those things, but it's time! Where should I look for a job? I only have two ideas of places. And I don't want to work in a grocery store or with food. I want to work somewhere different, maybe a place I enjoy going to. That way it's a unique job and one that I will hopefully enjoy. Exciting!

Now on to Pinterest! Have y'all heard of this site? It's really fun! All you do is sign up via email (it's free), search for something, say NAIL POLISH! (or whatever you want. I've been searching a few different things and one of my favorites is SEC football. And of course Arkansas Razorbacks!) and all these really cool ideas come up. You can "like" anything you see and then you can "pin" it to your boards. I'm having so much fun pinning stuff! Y'all should definitely join me if you haven't already discovered the awesomeness of this site! Y'all can follow me (Olivia Chaffin) if you already have one or want to make one.

Thanks for reading! :)

Wet n Wild: Red Red

Happy Friday! Today I'm going to show y'all my new favorite Wet n Wild polish: Red Red!

For ninety nine cents, I say go get this! If you need a good, basic red... you need this polish. I only needed two coats and the formula was great! I'm not surprised, though, because I've always had good luck with Wet n Wild. I think this will look good on just about everyone. I can see myself wearing this a lot for Razorback football and also around the holidays. What do y'all think?

Today was a great day. My weekends are usually a lot better than the days during the week. I'm not really sure why. I guess it just feels like there's more to do. Today I went with my Mom and Grandmother to check out this place in Memphis called Jerry's Sno Cones. Ahhh! It was so perfect for such an extremely hot day. I wish everyone could live near this because the snow cones are out of this world! And because we're a little backwards... we went to Central BBQ *after* we had our snow cones. We shared nachos, and brought home barbecue for the weekend because my Dad will be in town. Fun stuff! It might not sound like much, but these places are in the heart of the city. We live a little outside of Memphis, so it's fun to get out and explore. :)

I'm not really sure what I'm up to this weekend. Hopefully something fun. What are y'all's plans for the weekend?

Thanks for reading! :)

Vlog 5 & My Weekend!

I have another mini haul video for y'all! I kinda spent a little too much this weekend, but I do think it was well worth it. Let me know what y'all think!
I'm seriously loving making these vlogs! I hope y'all are enjoying them, because I'm having fun making them and coming up with ideas.
I've had a pretty busy weekend. Friday I booked it up to the closest Dillard's at the mall and fully intended on just asking a sales person about the Chanel polishes, but I actually bought Peridot. I didn't plan on that, but I didn't want to risk waiting too long. So I'm now the proud owner of Peridot and I couldn't be happier. It's my birthstone, so I'd feel weird not having it. Is that weird? It might be... oh well! Friday night I went downtown with my Mom, Grandmother, my sister and her boyfriend. The Orpheum theater in downtown Memphis plays movies on Friday nights during the summer. During the month of July they play movies that have Memphis roots, so this Friday it was The Blind Side. That's one of my *favorite* movies! So good, and really fun to see it on such a big screen and in such a cool atmosphere. So that was a lotta fun. Saturday I went to American Eagle with my Mom for new tank tops and then out to Ulta to use my coupon! Fun stuff. Today I got to see my uncle who was in town for the weekend. We had lunch, went to Urban Outfitters (of course!) and then went to YoLo for frozen yogurt! I had a pretty good weekend. :)

Tomorrow I plan on having a mini swatch fest. I have so many other polishes to show y'all! And I know y'all want to see some nail posts. What did y'all do this weekend? Any polish hauls? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and watching! :)

Time For Me to Vent

I know that this blog revolves around nail polish, and that's not changing. But sometimes I feel like I really need to let things out. I find it a lot easier to write about it. Since I have a blog, I think that's better than making some sad, depressing status on facebook.
I have SO enjoyed my time in Jacksonville, and I can't tell y'all how much I missed it. Driving down the main road in my community brought back a flood of memories. I never thought that I would enjoy this state as much as I did, but I am SO glad that I spent three amazing years down here. I began high school here, and it was a ROUGH start. By the end of my freshman year I was ready to head back up to Tennessee to be back with all my family and friends. I got to switch schools after my freshman year because of a zoning change, and for that I am super grateful! I loved my next high school. It was the best experience, and it made me realize that high school really isn't that bad. I met some of the best people, and even though some relationships didn't go the way anyone would want, the memories will never change and will never be forgotten. So that's what this trip brought back. All the memories and all the good times. Three years being spent away from family was hard, but it pushes you to make friends that seem like family because they are so close. Getting to see those people on this trip was so great. Seeing old friends, and boyfriends, was hard but worth every minute.
It's really really hard to focus on only the good. That's what I'm trying to do, but I just think about how hard it's going to be to leave. It was hard enough the first time, and it'll be just as hard this time around. What I have a hard time thinking about is that a place is what you make of it. I made Jacksonville a really great place. Making Memphis a great place is another story. I honestly feel like I've gotten everything out of that city that I can. I lived there many years when I was younger, and now I'm back. I've finished high school. I'm moving on. But I feel like the only thing keeping me in Memphis is the college classes that I'm beginning in the fall. I don't feel like I got everything I could out of Jacksonville. And that's why it's incredibly difficult to come back here. I couldn't not come back, though. That's not even an option. I always knew I would come back, and I know I'll continue to come back and visit. And hopefully for a longer period of time than three days. I'm very thankful that we were able to make this trip. It was worth every minute spent in the car, in traffic, stopping for gas and food. The 13 hour trip was worth it. I just can't help feeling sad that I have to leave.
So my question is, does anyone have a similar situation? I wish I knew more people that I could relate to that are going through/have gone through this situation. It's so difficult. I know my Mom feels sort of the same way, but my sister is another story. I love her to death, but she is making me crazy. She just keeps talking about how she wants to go "home." She even said it was because she had a "significant other" in Memphis. I just don't feel the same way as she does, so I'm trying to distance myself from her and realize that we all feel differently. And we have different ways of expressing everything. I just wanted to know if anyone else had any idea where I'm coming from? I guess this is life!
If y'all have stuck with me this long, thank you for reading. I know this is nothing interesting to y'all and it definitely has nothing to do with the main topic of this blog, and I'm sorry for that. I'll have pictures from the trip up soon, and then nail related things.
On a happier note, I hope all of my American readers have had a great Fourth of July! I did get to see a few fireworks, and that was all I really needed to see. So far I've spent, at least, the last three Fourth of Julys here in Jacksonville. I love how that worked out! :)

Match This for Me!

So y'all should know something about me... I'm totally addicted to Vitamin Water... but mostly the dragonfruit flavor. And I absolutely LOVE the color of it! It's like the perfect hot pink. I really wish I could find a nail polish that could match this perfectly. But a polish that has a jelly finish? Is that too much to ask?! So do y'all know of anything that could match this?
This is the closest thing I think I have. But it's definitely not the perfect match I wish I could find! And it's not a jelly... just a plain creme.

So help me! Suggestions on colors? Let me know!

Thanks for reading! :)

Tart Deco & My Ramblings

Howdy! I have one of my very favorite Essie's to show y'all. Tart Deco!

I picked this up maybe a month ago at WalMart. I instantly fell in love with this soft, pinky orange. The shade just seems perfect. And I love wearing it. It only needs two - three coats and it has a great formula. I really love Essie. It's become one of my favorite brands, which I believe I've mentioned on here before. I see it almost everywhere I go now since the brand is available at Walgreens, WalMart, etc. But those places never have the same colors on display as a beauty store. My most recent bottle of Essie is Limo-Scene. I found that at Beauty Max. I love going in there! It's tiny, but chocked full of OPI and Essie nail polishes. Along with some Nailtiques, I think? Anyway, don't y'all just love this shade? I think it's great for this time of the year and it's really cheery. :) What do y'all think????

So I just want to ramble a little bit about my crazy life. It's really not crazy, I'm very fortunate to have what I have. I just have little ups and downs. Today was just one of those days. You know, where everything and everyone seems to push your buttons? I really don't know why today had to be that day. Do y'all ever feel like just sitting down to cry by yourself for a second will make things a little better? I feel like that from time to time and it really does help a little. I'm trying to focus on the really good things that are going on. I registered for all my classes that begin this fall. Yay! It was a ridiculous process, but it's over with, so I can breathe easy for the next few months. We also have a little trip planned to Florida next weekend and I'm stoked! I miss my friends, neighbors, and the BEACH! We have three days to work with, so we're planning different beaches for each day. We plan on Crescent Beach, for sure, and then probably Jax Beach. Jax Beach has the most amazing pier and the best little shops and restaurants. It's just up the street from Neptune Beach, which has just as many cool little places. And then, of course, St. Augustine Beach and Anastasia Island. There are so many things to do, plus going back to our old neighborhood to visit all the amazing people we had as neighbors! I'm really excited. These little things are helping me on this icky day. Luckily for me, the day is so close to being finished and I have a new episode of the Real Housewives of NYC to watch! Double yay! Oh by the way, I watched some of the Beverly Hills Housewives marathon today, and they are such a mess! Maybe that's why my day sucked so bad. ha!

How are all of y'all? I hope everyone has had a better day than me and that tomorrow is awesome! It is Friday! Thank you for reading and for all of the nice comments y'all leave! You don't know how much I really appreciate it! :)
