Nail Art Practice

Hey y'all! I thought I would show y'all something different today. I decided to start working on my nail art. I don't consider myself an "artist" in any way, shape, or form. I'm literally the least artistic person on this planet. But you can always try, right? So here are my practice runs at nail art!
Base: Jesse's Girl All Things Girly + Sinful Colors Nail Art Time Off
Base: Essie Limo-scene + Sinful Colors Nail Art Time Off
Base: Sonia Kashuk Fatigued + Sinful Colors Nail Art Bad Chick, Fashionista and Jesse's Girl All Things Girly
Base: Sally Hansen Black Out + Sinful Colors Nail Art Bad Chick
Base: CQ Slate + Sinful Colors Nail Art Bad Chick, Fashionista

So those are the only ones I felt were worthy of a picture. I need some serious work on my "flowers." I can't get every petal the same size. My favorite is the very first one. It's like the easiest thing to do, so that's probably why I like it so much.
What are y'all's favorites? What can I improve on? What would y'all like to see? Let me know!

OPI: Chick Flick Cherry + Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Black Out & How To Call The Hogs!

Hey y'all! Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a great day and that y'all have an even better weekend! As y'all know I'm heading to Fayetteville, AR for the first Razorbacks game of the season. Woo Pig Sooie!
So I decided that I definitely wanted my nails to be red for the game, and this is the perfect "Razorback Red." OPI Chick Flick Cherry! I added four little dots to my ring finger. It's such a sad attempt at "nail art." I'm sorry y'all, it must be a big let down. But I hope y'all will enjoy the pics!

Chick Flick Cherry only needs two coats and the formula is fantastic! I love working with OPI polishes because they are always good. And I'm like best friends with the pro-wide brush, so you know. I used SH Xtreme Wear Black Out for the dots, and I used my dotting tool. Which I love, by the way! Since dots are the only thing I can do, that little tool has been a tremendous help. So what do y'all think? Lame attempt at nail art? Pretty red? Let me know!
And here's a youtube video I thought I should share with y'all. If you want to know what I'll be doing a lot of on Saturday, here ya go.

WOO PIG SOOIE! RAZORBACKS! Y'all just don't know how excited I am! Razorback football is my Fall!
I'm going to be scheduling some posts for while I'm gone. I'll talk to y'all when I get back. Have a great weekend! Thanks for reading & watching! :)

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Pumpkin Spice & Vlog 12: Haul!

Hey y'all! I've got lots to share today. First, I know a lot of people wanted to see Pumpkin Spice so I've swatched that for y'all. I did three coats and my pinky has four coats just so y'all can see how it builds up. I was a little disappointed to see that it's a pretty sheer polish on it's own. The base isn't as black as I thought it was going to be. It's more of a grey/black, or charcoal with orange glitter. Take a look.

Even though it does look a little sheer with three coats, it's still a unique polish, at least in my collection. It has that "glowy" look to it, too, which I think works really well for fall and especially around Halloween. I do like the look of it at four coats (pinky). But I know most of y'all aren't fans of a fourth coat. I can't say I blame y'all, because I really don't like it either. I think what made this polish so sheer was how thin the formula is. But let me just set the record straight. I do like this polish. Below, I've layered two coats over one coat of Xtreme Wear Black Out. I LOVE the outcome of this layering experiment, so take a look!

That's how I wanted Pumpkin Spice to look on its own. But I'm perfectly content layering it over black to get this effect. I really like it. What do y'all think? Have any of y'all tried this polish alone or over a black polish? What is your take on it? Please let me know! I'm curious to find out what y'all think!

And here's my 12th vlog!
I'm accepting "birthday polish" ideas, so leave them below! Let me know if you've tried anything I showed in the vlog, I'm always interested in what other people have to say on certain products!
I also mentioned Emily's blog, Embellished Nails. Please check out her blog! She's such a sweetheart and she has the most gorgeous nails! That's where I read her review of the True Blue Spa 60 Second Manicure Hand Scrub. Definitely check out her blog! :)

Thanks for reading & watching! :)

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Very Cherry & Twinkle Twinkle

Hey y'all! Happy Tuesday! I wanted to share two fairly new polishes in my collection. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear has some new polishes out (which includes Pumpkin Spice...) and I've picked up a few of them. Very Cherry was the first one. It's a sparkly pinky red. And then I also got Twinkle Twinkle which is just your basic silver glitter with some hexagon shapes thrown in. Have a look!

I used two coats of Very Cherry and one coat of Twinkle Twinkle on my accent nail. I love both of these. Very Cherry is kind of unique in my collection. I like how it leans pink, while still being a little red. And Twinkle Twinkle is a really fun glitter. I've been wanting to add more glitters to my collection, so that's partially why I bought this. There was also a gold glitter in the collection, but I usually go more for silver. As I've said before, I really like this brand. I have tons of polishes from them, and the formula is always great. They're about $4, totally worth the money.

So what do y'all think? Have y'all picked up any of the new Xtreme Wears? If so, which ones? Are you a fan of the brand? Let me know!

Thanks for reading & I hope y'all have a wonderful day! :)

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Grey Area

Happy Friday! This week has gone by so fast, I can't believe it. Today I wanted to show y'all this Xtreme Wear, Grey Area. It's a mushroom brown with dark purple undertones. It's a great color for fall!

It's super shiny and highly pigmented. I only needed two coats for what y'all see in these pictures. The formulas on the Xtreme Wear polishes are always great. I have a lot of these polishes in my collection and I would recommend trying them out if you haven't already. I think they cost around $3 or $4 and you can find them at drugstores, Target, WalMart, etc.

What do y'all think of this color? How about the brand? Are y'all as impressed with the formulas on these as I am? Let me know!

Thanks for reading & welcome to my new followers! :)

A Look at My Collection: Yellows

I'm sure y'all are tired of seeing nail wheels with colors from my collection, but that's all I've got for now! I really like the color on my nails right now and I don't want to change it. So today y'all are going to see my yellows! This one is not as picture heavy, because I only have seven yellows in my collection. Weird? I don't know. Yellows are such a pain. But anyway! Here they are.

1. Wet n Wild: Goldmine
2. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Mellow Yellow

3. OPI: Banana Bandanna
4. Sinful Colors: Unicorn

5. N.Y.C.: Taxi Yellow Creme
6. China Glaze: Lemon Fizz
7. China Glaze: Solar Power

So that's it! What are y'all's favorites? I really like China Gaze Lemon Fizz. My Mom actually just bought that for me a few days ago. It's such a pretty, creamy yellow. And there's not any shimmer or anything. Maybe this will be my favorite pastel yellow! I've been on a search for the perfect yellow for some time now. But I just get so mad at yellows. So we'll see!

A Look at My Collection: Reds

Today I wanted to show y'all my collection of reds. I've said before that I don't have that many reds, and I find that weird because it's my favorite color. Right now I have 13 in my collection. Not even enough to fill up a whole nail wheel! But that's okay. I like the reds I have and I know I'm going to wear them a lot this fall. :)

1. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Red Carpet
2. Chi: He's Chi-ting On Me
3. Sinful Colors: Sugar Sugar

4. Savvy by Femme Couture: Shimmer Time
5. Borghese: Venetian Red
6. Wet n Wild: Burgundy Frost

7. Essie: Rock Star Skinny
8. NYC: 211 A
9. Ulta: Steppin Out

10. OPI: Chick Flick Cherry
11. Sally Hansen Salon: Hollywood Scarlet

12. Wet n Wild: Red Red
13. Wet n Wild: Crazed

So that's my collection! Like I said, red is my favorite color and I really like to wear it on my nails. But, I'm not a big fan of the staining that reds *always* leave behind. It feels like no matter what you do, or how careful you are... you will still get horrible stains. Do any of y'all have any tips or tricks for removing red polish? Do y'all like to wear red? What's your favorite color to wear on your nails?

A Look at My Collection: Greens

For the past few weeks, I've been going through all of my polishes trying to find a better way to organize them. I always go back to organizing them by brand, so I don't know why I even bother. But, I've also been using my nail wheels a lot. I love painting them, because then I can see all the different shades I have and I can see that I don't need to keep buying one color. I've noticed that my collection of greens is pretty small, as compared to my pinks or blues. I thought it would be fun to show off my collection through nail wheels. So today I'm going to show y'all my greens!
I currently have 17 greens in my collection. There are 18 nails on the nail wheel, so the 18th nail is just a little experiment I was doing. :)
1. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri: Jade Jump
2. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Lime Lights
3. L.A. Colors: Current
4. Del Sol: Looking Glass
5. Zoya: Gemma
6. OPI: Green-wich Village
7. Sinful Colors: Irish Green
8. Wet n Wild: Jade
9. Sinful Colors: Show Me the Way
10. Maybelline: Go Go Green
11. Ulta: Into the Limelight
12. Rimmel: Camouflage
13. Sinful Colors: San Francisco
14. American Apparel: Hunter
15. OPI: Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow
16. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Green with Envy
17. Sally Girl: Pea-Body
18: Ulta: Pinata-Yada-Yada topped with L'Oreal I Pink I'm in Love

So those are my greens! In the first picture of the nail wheel, my Del Sol changed to its outdoor color, which is a pink-red. But, indoors and in the shade it is green. I think my favorite greens are Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow and Into the Limelight. What are your favorites? Is there anything y'all want to see on my nails?

I'm putting together a post on what polish I should wear to Florida. So far I have 10 polishes that I'd like to wear. I want y'all's opinions on those, so look for a post coming up this week!

Thanks for reading! :)

Mini Haul

Hey y'all! How was everybody's weekend? Mine was pretty good! Friday was really nothing special. I went out for frozen yogurt with my family and made an evening trip to Walmart... which is always fun, right?! ha! Saturday we had reservations in Harbor Town for Paulette's. Probably some of the best food in this world! Oh, and one thing about frozen yogurt... really just a simple suggestion. If you see a Banana Pudding yogurt, don't get it. Oh my it was so gross! Banana is a risky flavor. And that's all I'm going to say about that. :) On to the mini haul! I was out and about with my Mom today and we stopped in Target, one of my favorite stores. I ended up with everything you see in this post.
This top was only $12.99! I love light, loose tops right now. It's summer and it's the coolest thing to wear. You can always pair it with a light sweater if you're going out. I'll usually put a colored tank top under something like this.
My Mom kindly bought this polish. She loved the color and so did I! It's really neat and one I haven't seen from this brand before. Can't wait to try it out! :) The name is Grey Area. Have y'all seen/heard about it?
She also bought these Drying Drops- how kind! She's read about these in several different magazines, so she wanted to try them. Does anyone know if these work? I'm really anxious to see if they work! I think they cost the same as one of the polishes from Nicole by OPI.
And then I bought these sandals. I've been wanting them for a few weeks now. I think they're just too cute! They come in a few different colors, but the turquoise is too cute to turn up. Looove! I think they'll look cute with that black top and some jean shorts. :) Oh! And they were only $15! Heck yeah!

So good haul right? Yeah, I think so. What did y'all do this weekend? Is it as hot where y'all are as it is here? I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday and that everyone has a great week! Nail posts will resume tomorrow. :)

P.S. Check out this great blog! :)

Can I get a Woooo Pig Soooie?!

Well hey y'all! It's been a while since I did a little posting here, so I thought I'd drop by.
I'm excited for tonight because my Arkansas Razorbacks will be in Starkeville, MS to play the Mississippi State Bulldogs. It's a big night for my 8-2 #13 Razorbacks! Wooo Pig Sooie! In honor of the big night ahead, I decided to sport some red nails, courtesy of OPI's Chick Flick Cherry- probably the best red in my collection. It's got a great formula and dries super quick with the help of Nicole by OPI's Top Coat Plus. I did two coats of CFC and then topped it off with my top coat. A few weeks ago I went into Sally's to look for a dotting tool. I found one, and I can't believe I went that long without one. When it comes to nail art, I have no creativity and it just gives me a headache trying to come up with some sort of design. Needless to say, dots are the extent of my creativity on my nails. The dotting tool makes it so easy to create the perfect dot. So I used black for the dots- Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Black Out. Black Out is the cheapest, yet best black out there, very easy to work with. I topped it off, again, with my top coat. I like the outcome of this manicure. It's festive and I think I'll try to leave it on for Thanksgiving, as well. I don't really think of red for that holiday, but it is my favorite color and I think I can pull it off. :)

I hope y'all are enjoying the weekend. We have beautiful weather here. It's not super cold and it's definitely not hot! Lovin it! I think that's all for now, but, of course, GO HOGS! :)
